"Love me hate me is a song about trying to love someone while suffering from BPD (borderline personality disorder). A daily ongoing struggle, trying to convince yourself that all the lies your mind creates aren't real... Emotions are so intense but also change so rapidly that one moment you love that person to pieces and the next you feel like you completely despise them. It's always all or nothing. Black or white. Your perception of everything is distorted as your mind continuously plays tricks, trying to make you believe that the person wants to hurt you, abandon you or manipulate you. It's an exhausting, anxiety- filled ride, waking up every day having no idea what each day holds. It feels like you are lying naked on a bed of nails with no emotional skin to protect you from getting hurt. One tiny trigger can set you off, ruin you in an instant. The thing is, you can love that person to death but your disorder controls your emotions in a way that is crippling and devastating."
